“Fortunes, businesses and character: they are simply the aggregate of small, habitual, positive decisions”
What exactly is a
Business Mentor?
The word Mentor comes from Greece, where it was the name of a young man’s adviser in Homer’s Odyssey. A business mentor is someone who understands your goals and priorities – not just in business, but in life. They also place a huge importance on knowing your values, beliefs and morals. A business mentor will work with you to develop an action plan to achieve these goals, with regular contact to measure your progress. They are a rock of wisdom and a shoulder to cry on, all in an environment of absolute privacy.
So what is the difference between a mentor, a coach and other advisers and consultants? The key difference is accountability. With a mentor, you agree to be held accountable by them to your commitments.
Having a business mentor moves you beyond mere self-improvement or business enhancement into what can be a life-changing experience.
This can be both challenging and liberating. It is where the true value is created.
Often, it is not a matter of what to do, but which good idea to focus on first. For example, I’ve helped revamp a business’ marketing plan, increasing revenue which allowed them to expand into other markets. Another time, I worked with a business owner to help her balance her family and business demands. Read this case-study with a marketing start-up for more information on how my mentoring can make a difference.
Ultimately, talk is useless, without the results that define success. But success is hollow if achieved through being a lesser version of yourself.
My job, as your business mentor, is to focus you on achieving business success whilst being the greatest version of you.

Why should you engage me as your
Business Mentor?
I believe that there is no better time than right now for business leaders and entrepreneurs to achieve their goals. If you are willing and able to work, and have a plan – well aren’t those the conditions under which every single successful business has succeeded?
And yet, without action and the accountability that a mentor brings, the result is often less than desired. Distractions come in, the urgent overwhelms the important, noise replaces wisdom. By engaging me as your business mentor, you can use my understanding of finance, business, governance and behaviour to make a critical difference.
You can’t do it alone. And business can be a very lonely place. Everyone has their own angle, their own agenda. How do you know that these are truly aligned with your best interests? How do you know that your advisors are giving you the best possible input?
As your business mentor I stand with you at the crossroads of your personal values and your business goals. I hold you accountable to achieving your business goals, within the framework of your best version of you.
And, I not only listen, I instruct, based on my own knowledge and experience.
Using my 35 plus years of business experience across four continents, and my cross-disciplinary knowledge of finance, law and marketing, I work with you to identify the best strategy and tactics to achieve your goals. Where possible, I will connect you with other professionals to expand your network and save you money.
My best advice to you, is to find a business mentor you can resonate with. I’m very proud of the testimonials I have received, but your opinion is the most important. Head over to my blog to get an insight into my thinking, values and expertise. It will help you to decide whether I am the right business mentor for you.
Whatever the challenges you face, I am in your corner. I have your back. I act in your best interests, and you can rely on me to tell you how it is, whether this is palatable, or not.
